Project Description:

This frog bog (garden and bog) has been created over the past year. It can be viewed through the windows of three classrooms. We will watch, listen and record over time what wildlife finds this habitat attractive.




Frog Garden - NEXT? - 11/5/2005

Our next activity, to make the garden more \'frog friendly\', is to add lots of leaf litter and branches between the plants for frogs to hide in. And to feel safe to travel through the area.

Each of us gave a short talk to explain to the judge about how and why the frog garden was built.

Rotary Garden Competition - 11/5/2005

In October 2005 our Frog Garden was judged in a State Wide Competition sponsored by Rotary. We won the Regional Award last month and now we have been judged at the State level. The judges arrived on the school oval by helicopter.

We entered our frog garden into a state wide school garden competition and a tidy towns competition. I think the judges were very impressed with the way it involved lots of families and community volunteers helping out.
