Oregon 4-H Education Center - United States
The Oregon 4-H Education Center is a 340 acre living outdoor laboratory. Historically, beginning in the early 1890’s, the property was homesteaded by one family in photo 3 (top right). Today education programs in wetlands and ponds, include the study of the threatened red legged frog (photo 1, top left). Learners attending outdoor schools and summer camps participate in educational field games such as "Hooks and Ladders" from Project WILD about salmon migration (photo 2)and learn to use GPS units (photo 5). The new education building was completed September 2004! (photo 6, bottom right). Apple House office was demolished Sept. 28, 2004 (photo 4, bottom left).
